Welcome to SEPAC: Special Education Parent Advisory Counsil

SEPAC Mission Statement:
The mission of the Lower Township Elementary Schools’ Special Education Parent Advisory Council is to facilitate communication between students, parents, staff, the Board of Education, and the community, with regards to the districts’ special education programs, for the purpose of advising the Board of Education and administration on matters pertaining to improving the quality of special education district wide.

Greetings from the Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC).  Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year we are inviting you to virtually attend our winter SEPAC meetings.  The following workshops are being offered to you through SPAN. Literacy Strategies for Families - November 16, 2020
Time: 1 PM - 2:15 PM
This workshop will help families to support their child's reading achievement, especially children who are struggling readers.

Basic Rights in Special Education - November 18, 2020 
Time: 6 PM - 7:15 PM 
This presentation provides families with an introduction to their rights and responsibilities as parents of children with special needs under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), the New Jersey Code, and Section 504 of the Vocational Rehabilitation Act.

Interventions and Supports for Struggling Students - November 23, 2020

This workshop will provide information on resources and helpful strategies for use at school and at home to help avoid student failure.
